Sheriff’s office inducted into Special Olympics Hall of Fame

EL PASO COUNTY – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is now part of the Special Olympics Colorado Hall of Fame.

The agency was inducted as the 2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run Agency of the Year on Thursday. The department said they have been a long time supporter of Special Olympics Colorado and an active Law Enforcement Torch Run partner since 2002.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was inducted into the Special Olympics Hall of Fame.

In a news release, the agency said they were recognized as the 2017 agency of the year for raising nearly $54,000 to support athletes.

The sheriff’s office is known to take part in events including the Polar Plunge, Plane Pull, No Shave November and various Tip-A-Cop events.
