COLORADO SPRINGS – A mother bear and her cub hanging out in trees at Bear Creek Dog Park forced the full closure of the area on Thursday and Friday morning.
News5 viewer Courtney Conklin sent in photos of the bears high up in the trees minding their own business. El Paso County Parks officials still needed to close the park for everyone’s safety.
As of Friday morning, the bears moved out of the park and it was reopened just before 10:00 a.m.
Just keep an eye on your surroundings.
The park is on the west side of Colorado Springs at S. 21st St.
