What to do this Labor Day weekend in southern Colorado

SOUTHERN COLORADO – The end of summer is near, so here’s what’s going on in southern Colorado this Labor Day weekend.

  • Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off will start on September 1 and go until the 3rd at Memorial Park. The popular event starts each morning off with a hot air balloon ascent and ends with a balloon glow. The event is free, for more information, click here.
  • The 18th Annual En Plein Air Artists Competition will be held Labor Day weekend in Victor in celebration of the arts. Artists gather to paint on location and will be judged for multiple awards and cash prizes. Admission is free, for more information, click here.
  • “Cars N Coffee” is the 7th Annual First Saturdays Car Show at the Dick’s Sporting Goods west parking lot on September 1. Visitors can gather to see all different types of makes and model cars, from Ford to Porsche and more. The event is free, for more information, click here.
  • The annual Pikes Peak Runners American Discovery Trail will return for runners to celebrate the Labor Day holiday with a race. Races include a 10k, half marathon, full marathon, and more, including fun for kids. The event is on September 3, and most races will start at  America the Beautiful Park.   • Cheer on the Air Force Academy Falcons Football team this Labor Day weekend. The game will be at Falcon Stadium on September 1, ticket prices vary. Group and military discounts are available, for more information, click here.
  • The Broadmoor is offering a number of Labor Day family packages this holiday weekend. Packages include accommodations per night, tickets to Seven Falls, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and more. For more information and prices, click here.
  • The Colorado Springs Sky Sox will be playing in some of their last home games of the season this Labor Day weekend. Games will be held at home from September 1 to the 3rd, with varying ticket prices. For more information, click here.
  • During the Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off event, Dragonfly Paddle Yoga is offering classes at Memorial Park. There will be three different sessions on both Saturday and Sunday, tickets are $35 a person. For more information, click here.
  • Commonwheel Artists Co-op’s 44th Annual Labor Day Art Show will be held in Manitou Springs this weekend. Visitors can indulge in all different types of art from September 1-3, for free! For more information, click here.
