REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A California woman accused of trying to drown her newborn baby in a toilet inside a McDonald’s restaurant was sentenced without jail time last Friday.
Sarah Lockner, 27, was sentenced to four years of supervised probation. She initially faced attempted murder charge, but she pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of felony child endangerment.
Authorities said Lockner gave birth to an infant boy while she was working as a cashier at a McDonald’s restaurant in 2017. They said she then tried to kill the boy by drowning him in a toilet.
The infant was hospitalized but has since recovered.
