COLORADO SPRINGS – Arrest papers indicate a Colorado Springs man forcibly engaged in oral and anal sex with at least two boys inside his home, across the street from Fountain Park and the Hillside Community Center.
Joseph Davis, 67, was arrested in December 2018 after one purported child victim revealed to his therapist that Davis “made him go into his bed and sleep with him” on multiple occasions. The child, when interviewed at Safe Passage, described how when he would visit Davis’ home in the 900 block of Fountain Boulevard for sleepovers with his grandchildren, Davis would pull the boy’s pants down, pull him back onto the bed when he would try to sneak away, and then sodomize him.
The account mirrors an accusation in 2010 in which a boy reported that Davis “made him perform oral sex on him and (Davis) performed anal sex” on him, incidents which sometimes including the use of alcohol and drugs. In both cases, the boys reported that Davis used drugs in front of them, showed them nude photos of other children from a large personal collection, and in the 2010 case, Davis took explicit nude photos of the boy in forced poses. The boy in the 2010 accusation reported that Davis kept the illicit images on the bottom shelf of his nightstand.
Davis said he was “the son of God,” according to the accuser in the 2018 case, and “he knew when everyone is going to die.” When asked how Davis’ actions made him feel, the 2018 accuser told the interviewer “he was not happy and wished he had a better life where this didn’t have to happen to him.”
In a press release, Colorado Springs police said that based on the continuing investigation, it is believed that Davis has committed ongoing sexual abuse of other children and produced child pornography over at least a 35-year span. They are asking anyone who has interacted with Davis at or near his home at 944 E. Fountain Blvd. to come forward.
Davis faces felony charges of Sexual Assault on a Child by one in a position of trust, Sexual Assault on a Child (use of force), and Sexual Assalt. He is due in court for a preliminary hearing on February 4.
