WASHINGTON – A day before the nationwide Women’s March, thousands of people with perhaps a different perspective also marched on Washington.
These marchers gathered in Washington Friday for the annual March for Life, which has now been happening for 45 years.
The March for Life recognizes and opposes the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision in January 1973 that legalized abortion.
Anti-abortion activists marched from the National Mall to the Supreme Court to show their opposition to the ruling. Joining them was Colorado Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn.
Lamborn posted the video seen above to Twitter before the march. In it he says, “They come here to stand up for life, to celebrate life, to oppose those who want to use our legal system to allow the taking of a life.”
Vice President Pence addressed the pro-life rally in person and President Trump sent remarks via video.
