PUEBLO – As the year comes to a close, the Pueblo Police Department says a program they are using to team up with the FBI is a success so far.

The safe streets task force has, so far, captured 247 of the 273 criminals featured for the program. That’s a 90 percent arrest rate.

Pueblo police say it isn’t just officers and agents who help in this but the community as well.

“A lot of the people we get, we get information from the Pueblo community and at the same time some of these suspects they feel the pressure and they turn themselves in and they are like, ‘people are looking for me and I’m tired of it,’ so they turn themselves in,” commented Frank Ortega with PPD.

PPD post up criminals in the program on their social media pages.

If you have any information that will lead to the capture of the criminals, you’re asked to call the PPD or crime stopper at 542-STOP.
