COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs firefighters are on the scene of a two-alarm structure fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters said a total of eight people were displaced from the fire and two structures were damaged. No one was injured.

Firefighters said the fire happened around 3:20 a.m. at a home in the 3600 block of Garland Court, which is just to the west of Pikes Peak Ave. and S. Academy Blvd. in Colorado Springs.

CSFD tweeted that the fire appeared to originate from a camper and spread to one structure and caused minor damage to another one. Firefighters said they saw “heavy fire” when they arrived, but they were able to get the flames knocked down within minutes.

All eight people inside the home made it out safely, despite the fact no smoke detectors went off to alert the family to the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
