JAPAN – The U.S. Marine Corps confirms one crew member is dead and five others are still missing following the collision of an F/A-18 Hornet and a KC-130 Hercules refueling aircraft off the coast of Japan.

Both aircraft were taking part in training around 2 a.m. Thursday to include refueling, but there’s no confirmation on whether that’s what was taking place at the time of the collision.

One crew member from the fighter jet is reportedly in fair condition.
