LAS ANIMAS COUNTY – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office as they investigate a double shooting Saturday afternoon.
According to the CBI, a male and a female who live in Weston were shot inside their home on County Rd 18.6 which is about 22 miles west of Trinidad.
The female is said to have non-life threatening wounds, while the male was taken to a Colorado Springs hospital with more severe wounds. The names and ages of the victims have not been released.
Sheriff’s deputies have detained three people who were contacted during a traffic stop after the shooting. While CBI says the three know the victims, they have not released their names or if they are facing charges.
