PETA asks CSU to stop infecting birds with West Nile virus

Posted

FORT COLLINS – PETA is asking Colorado State University to stop experiments that involve infecting birds with West Nile virus.

The Denver Post reports that PETA accused the University of capturing crows, robins, and sparrows, removing them from the wild, and possibly taking them away from their babies.

The Vice President of Research at CSU responded to the accusation by saying there are policies and procedures in place to ensure that practices meet or exceed guidelines for the treatment of animals.
