COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs Police say they are looking for more victims who may have been sexually assaulted by a 57-year-old Colorado Springs man. Victims could be from more than ten years back. It is a type of cold case where young people now in the twenties are coming forward with details of an alleged crime when they were kids.

Officers arrested 57-year-old Daniel Armstrong on July 7 in Douglass, Kan., several months after police in Colorado Springs obtained an arrest warrant for Armstrong for sexual assault on a child and sexual exploitation of children. Armstrong is described as a family friend was very close with the father.

Arrest documents say a victim reported Armstrong taking inappropriate pictures and sexually assaulting her multiple times from around 2007 to 2011. Records also show sexual assault reports by a brother and then a cousin who came forward after hearing about the other allegations.

While Armstrong remained in custody related to original victims, police said they found the evidence of additional victims.  They served another warrant on new charges in September while he was already being held in jail in El Paso County.

Anyone with information should call the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719) 444-7000. If you wish to remain anonymous, you may call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.
