COLORADO SPRINGS – Thousands gathered in downtown Colorado Springs Saturday morning for the annual Veterans Day Parade.

The parade is held every year on the first Saturday in November.

2018’s theme was celebrating 100 years of Armistice/Veteran’s day.

Colorado Springs is home to five military installations, so the annual parade is a community affair.

“As for the country, it’s amazing to see everybody get together and everyone smiling,” said participant, Mike Foster. “Everybody’s talking with veterans and welcoming them, and thanking them for their service. To us that’s the top thing that can happen,” he continued. “We just really enjoy coming out here every year, but for us, it’s meeting the veterans and honoring them is the biggest thing.”

Veteran’s Day is officially observed across the country next Sunday, November 11th.
