COLORADO SPRINGS – Friday, police arrested 27-year-old Timothy Key on a charge of murder in the second degree for Thursday’s shooting on Cascade Ave.
The victim, 26-year-old Jaylon Morgan, was found around 2:15 a.m. on the first floor of a parking structure near the intersection of Cascade and Kiowa.
CSPD said officers and firefighters tried to save the man’s life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Key surrendered to authorities at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. Colorado Springs Police have not released a possible motive for the shooting or how the victim and suspect may know each other.
This homicide is the 28th of the year, surpassing 27 homicides for Colorado Springs at this same time last year.
