Veteran to receive a forever home in Fountain

Posted

COLORADO SPRINGS – It’s a big day for a veteran named Rick and his two daughters. Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is dedicating it’s very first “Veterans Home Build” for local veterans to Rick and his girls at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Rick served at Fort Carson and his income was not enough to keep up with the rising costs of homes in El Paso County.

The Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity stepped in and made the home possible. This is the organization’s first annual Veteran Home Build and they look forward to doing it again year after year.

During the ceremony, the 4th Infantry Division and other Mountain Post personnel will present a flag to the family. The public is also welcome to attend the dedication from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The home is located at 219 Red Finch Lane in Fountain.
