COLORADO SPRINGS – This is a great time to be looking for a new job in Colorado Springs. The Pikes Peak Workforce Center will host a Community and Veterans Job Fair on Wednesday at the Chapel Hills Mall. Some 190 employers are participating, looking to fill around 2,000 positions.

Workforce Center CEO Traci Marques tells us there are more job opening in the Pikes Peak Region than there are workers to fill them.

“There are over 13,000 open positions in both El Paso and Teller County and right now data shows that there are more open positions than people looking for work,” Marques said. “So, this is a great opportunity, if you’re wanting to upscale your job and looking for another job, or if you’re underemployed right now. It’s a great opportunity to come out to a job fair and just talk to different employers and see what they have to offer.”

The job fair starts at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel Hills Events Center which is located at the former JC Penny/Gordman’s building. All active duty military and their spouses are invited to attend an hour early at 10:00 a.m.
