CANON CITY – Around 8 p.m. Tuesday night, Colorado State Patrol out of Canon City reported that Highway 50 was closed in both directions at mile marker 273 due to a serious car crash.
Roughly an hour later, CSP reported three vehicles were involved in the wreck and air rescue was on the scene.
About another hour later, CSP reported the wreck was fatal. They did not say how many people were injured or had died.
CSP Vehicle Crimes Unit is on the scene investigating.
Just before 10 p.m., CSP said there is no estimated time on when the highway will reopen.
Update 2: 947PM. This is a fatality crash. A crime scene investigation is ongoing. A special investigator from the CSP Vehicle Crimes Unit is onscene. No Estimate on when highway will reopen.
