ELIZABETH – A community in Elizabeth is mourning the loss of an 11-year-old killed as the result of a viral online challenge.
Carson Bodkins was found dead in his bedroom last Thursday after he choked himself as part of a game.
Carson’s parents said he’d still be alive if they had only known about the challenge, and now they’re telling as many people as they can about the game.
Some of the warning signs that a child may be doing this challenge include headaches and bloodshot eyes.
Parents are advised to talk to their children periodically about what they are watching online, and remind them of the unintended consequences of some of the online challenges that are out there.
