PARK COUNTY – Two drivers were seriously injured in a crash on Highway 9 near milepost 74, four miles north of Alma Saturday morning.
Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened just before 8 a.m. Saturday. A Saturn Vue was reportedly traveling southbound on Highway 9 when it attempted to pass a car in a no passing zone.
A Jeep Renegade was traveling northbound when the Saturn hit the Jeep’s left front end, CSP said. The Saturn then spun and was in the roadway in the southbound lane.
CSP said the Jeep then traveled off the east side of the road and rolled down a steep embankment an unknown number of times. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with serious bodily injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are being investigated as contributing factors to the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
