Ben and Jerry to hold “Take Back Congress, Flavor by Flavor” campaign

COLORADO – Ben and Jerry, co-founders of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, are launching a campaign to support the seven best “progressive candidates” running for Congress.

Ben and Jerry are teaming up with MoveOn, an organization dedicated to political progress and supporting candidates, to run the “Take Back Congress, Flavor by Flavor! campaign.” “We need a Democratic majority to check President Trump’s unrestrained power,” the website says.

This is where the public comes in, as the team needs help coming up with seven ice cream flavors and flavor names that capture what each candidate stands for. Among the seven candidates selected, Stephany Rose Spaulding of the Colorado 5th District.

In November, Spaulding will try to unseat current Congressman Doug Lamborn (R), who’s held the seat since 2007.

Libertarian Douglas Randall is also on the ballot. Lamborn won the June primary for the Republican party, after facing four other opponents.

Ben and Jerry say they know this is a rather challenging demand but believes everyone as a whole can make this happen. Ben and Jerry will pick the winner and then make a batch of each flavor that’ll be raffled off to support the candidates.

The remaining six candidates include Jess King of the Pennsylvania 11th District, Lauren Underwood of the Illinois 14th District, Aftab Pureval of the Ohio 1st District, J.D. Scholten of the Iowa 4th District, Ammar Campa Najjar of the California 50th District, and James Thompson of the Kansas 4th District.
