LELAND, N.C. – Six dogs were found abandoned in an outdoor cage where flood water was continuing to rise around them in the wake of Hurricane Florence.
A man posted the video of the rescue on Twitter where you can see the dogs left in a cage with water up to their necks. Once set free, the dogs swim their way to land with their tails wagging.

The Twitter post said that the water was so high that by the time the people responsible for rescuing the dogs left, the dogs would’ve drowned.
Officials say the destructive storm has taken the lives of 20 people as of Monday afternoon.
