“What if?” That’s what folks in downtown Colorado Springs will be asking this weekend.

It’s the annual ”What If…” Celebration of Innovation and Imagination and it’s bringing together thinkers, performers and thousands of people! You can look forward to 6 blocks of live demonstrations, art, music, and food.

It’s hosted by Imagination Celebration. The festival starts Saturday at 10 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m.

The best part? All exhibits and concerts are free! You can find more information on their website.

The What If… Festival presents a free experience for all ages, involving robotics, painting, engineering, pottery, athletics, chemistry, medical innovations, green screens, virtual reality, solar power, eco-technologies, and much more.

A food court will focus on creative culinary items in our community, as well as a Beer Garden.

This year, the festival brings back the exciting pop-up public art initiative, Portals, an “internet you can walk through,” connecting festival-goers with people around the world in memorable life-size, face-to-face, live interactions, and dialogs.

The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cascade St. and Cascade St. will both be closed between Colorado Ave. and Vermijo Ave. throughout the day. If you have plans to head downtown Saturday, plan on taking an alternate route in the area of the festival.
