COLORADO SPRINGS – Children across Colorado are returning to school and many of them don’t have enough food at home. Hunger can impact a child’s ability to perform well in school.
Research shows that kids from families who are not sure where their next meal is going come to come from are more likely to have lower math scores and even end up repeating a grade. Numerous other challenges are also tied to hunger in children.
In southern Colorado 1 in 8 people go hungry and for kids, that’s 1 in 5.
Thanks to a partnership between Care and Share and T. Rowe Price, you can get involved in lowering those numbers.
They’re hoping to fill a whole truck with non-perishable food items today! You can drop off any non-perishable food donations until 1 p.m. at the Colorado Springs T-Rowe Price Campus.
The campus is located at 2220 Briargate Parkway, which is at Briargate and Chapel Hills Rd.
