JEFFERSON COUNTY – A mother could be facing vehicular homicide charges after her 2-year-old daughter was killed in a crash near Genessee Friday.
Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-70 near mile marker 255 around 3 p.m. A 2-year-old girl was killed and two people injured after a car reportedly crossed the median and hit a westbound car near Genesee.

The child’s 28-year-old mother was reportedly driving the car at the time of the crash. I-70 WB was closed during the investigation.
Colorado State Patrol said drugs and alcohol are being considered contributing factors to the crash. The mother of the 2-year-old could now face a vehicular homicide charge.
There is no word on the condition of the other victims at this time.
