Today’s Forecast: Highs will be well into the 80’s around the Pikes Peak Region and the 90’s for Pueblo and the plains. Many areas will have some haziness to the sky thanks to fires burning west of Colorado. An upper level high to our southwest has been funneling smoke from those fires towards our skies. Clouds develop throughout the second half of the day over the mountain and try to push west. Showers and storms should be less numerous today. They’ll pop up over the mountains and try to push east, but not all areas will actually catch a shower or storm. Most likely locations will be the Pikes Peak Region and areas west of I-25.  Heavy rain will be possible with some of these so we’ll keep a close eye on burn scars. Partly cloudy tonight with rain ending after midnight and lows in the 50’s and 60’s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 87; Low – 60. Areas of PM clouds with isolated shower/storm activity.

PUEBLO: High – 94; Low – 62. A few PM clouds with mainly dry conditions.

CANON CITY: High – 91; Low – 64. A warmer day with pm clouds and very limited showers/storms.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 78; Low – 53. A few isolated pm showers/storms.

TRI-LAKES: High – 80;s; Low – 50’s. A warm day with pm rain chances.

PLAINS: High – 90’s; Low – 60’s. Hot and mainly dry for your Thursday.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 90; Low – 60’s. Warm and mainly dry with a few pm clouds.

REST OF THE WEEK:  A better chance for pm showers and storms on Friday with a disturbance passing through. This will try to develop more abundant activity throughout the afternoon and evening. Mainly dry and hot heading into the weekend. Highs will be in the upper 80’s and 90’s. Any showers/storm activity will be very minimal, but a few storms will try to develop over the mountains each afternoon. A better chance for additional moisture arrives with another disturbance on Monday.
