Around 3 a.m. Thursday, Pueblo P.D. officers responded to a scrap yard on Farabaugh Ln.
They said dispatch received an abandoned 911 call from the location.
P.D. said that when officers arrived at the scene, they located a device that looked like an improvised explosive device (IED).
The Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad responded to the scene and examined the device. The device was determined to be inert, or chemically inactive. In other words, it was not an explosive device.
P.D. contacted the property owner, who said they hadn’t been to the property for “some time,” and didn’t know anything about the device or who might have placed it there.
The bomb squad has been cleared from a storage yard on Farabaugh Lane in Pueblo. @PuebloPolice1 say the explosive device looked like a pipe bomb but it was a dud. The call came in about 2:20 a.m. @koaa pic.twitter.com/pdSwKuTCOD
