All the recent rains have allowed El Paso County Sheriff Bill Elder to rescind the fire restrictions put in place earlier this summer for all unincorporated parts of the county. On June 26th, the City of Colorado Springs lifted all fire restrictions.
The notice sent out by El Paso County reminds everyone that if they plan on doing any open burning on their property they should contact their local fire protection district or fire department for notification purposes.
"While the restrictions have been lifted, we continue to stress using caution when using any open fire and or flame producing devices. Always keep a safe area for their use and make sure you keep fire suppression items available," says the release.
