One person is dead after they were hit by a Union Pacific train bringing people back to Denver from Cheyenne Frontier Days.
The accident happened Saturday night in Adams County at 124th Ave. and Highway 85. A few hundred people were on the train when the person was hit.
The 844 train is part of Union Pacific’s "Heritage" series. It’s a steam locomotive that runs during Cheyenne Frontier Days. Investigators brought busses in to transport the passengers back into Denver.
Investigators were on the scene for hours and the cause is yet to be determined.
