You may have noticed some construction happening at the D20 bus yard off of Woodmen Road just west of Powers Blvd. in Colorado Springs.
A spokesperson for Academy District 20 said the district is adding more buses to its fleet because of growth in the district and new schools opening.
As a result, more parking spots are needed, which caused the entire lot to be redesigned to house the entire fleet. The improvements will add a new entrance as well as an exit onto Woodmen Road to help traffic flow.
District 20 said it will cost just under $2 million and it’s being paid for with the capital reserve fund, which is separate from the 2016 voter-approved bond.
