In the early hours of Thursday morning, Colorado Springs Police were able to locate two-year-old Vinessa Nyquist, who had been kidnapped earlier in the day by her non-custodial parent, Kayla Nyquist.
According to police, investigations personnel and officers from the Falcon Division were able to locate all parties involved in the kidnapping in the area of 85 Sunflower Road, in Colorado Springs. The two-year-old’s mother, Kayla Nyquist was taken into custody for her involvement in the investigation.

Earlier Wednesday, CSPD officers were dispatched to a home in the 3100 block of Starlight Circle to investigate a parental kidnapping. Their investigation revealed that two-year-old Vinessa had been taken from the home by her non-custodial parent, Kayla Nyquist.
According to Police, 26-year-old Kayla Nyquist is transient and it was believed she was possibly in the company of her boyfriend, 30-year-old Joey Bobbit.
Representatives from the Crimes Against Children Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation and enlisted the help of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, who issued a missing and endangered person alert.
Around 2 a.m., investigators were able to locate the parties involved in the kidnapping. At this time, there is no word on what charges any party involved in the incident may face.
