It’s the second officer involved shooting in a 24-hour period in the Denver-Metro area. An investigation is ongoing this morning and a suspect is recovering at a Denver area hospital. The man led police on a short chase at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Aurora and Denver police officers were involved with the suspect.
The shooting happened at the Biltmore Motel at Colfax and Yosemite, which is on the border of Denver and Aurora. Officers told the suspect to stop and he took off running. Shots were fired shortly after. No officers were injured.
Police say the man did have a weapon. The suspects name or his condition have not been released.
On Tuesday, a Westminster motorcycle officer shot a burglary suspect. The condition of the suspect is unknown and the officer was not injured.
