An arrest has been made in the shooting that occurred on Colorado Springs west side early Saturday morning.
Colorado Springs Police said their homicide detectives executed a search warrant and arrested 19-year-old Cedric Jamal Jackson for Murder in the First Degree. Police have not yet released his picture or the identity of the victim.
The shooting happened in the early hours of Saturday morning near Cheyenne Blvd. and 8th Street, on Colorado Springs west side. Just before 6 a.m., police responded to the area and found a man lying in the street. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police also discovered a rollover crash on Gold Camp Road near pull off number seven. Saturday, police said they were looking for a connection between the two incidents, but have not yet released any information pertaining to that.
CSPD said they will identify the victim once official identification has been made and family notifications are completed.
