Colorado Springs Police need help identifying suspects believed to be involved in a number of attempted auto thefts.

Police said on June 14, around 1:20 p.m., a dark-colored Toyota 4Runner was seen traveling on Confederate Ridge Drive. Unknown male passengers were seen getting out of the car and running up to other cars to see if they were unlocked, according to CSPD.

Police said the suspects got into unlocked cars and stole a garage door remote from one of the vehicles. The suspects found the garage associated with the remote and attempted to steal a different car, but were unsuccessful.

The suspects were also believed to be in the area of Shooting Iron Way, near the intersection of Dublin Blvd and Peterson Rd.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored Toyota 4Runner, 2003 to 2009 model, with silver wheels and a tail fin on top of the tailgate. Surveillance video of the suspect vehicle and suspects has also been released.

Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle, identity of the suspects, or the investigation is asked to call Detective M. Garcia at (719) 444-3121.
