A small crime spree took place in the early hours of Monday morning on Colorado Springs north end.
Around 3:00 a.m., a string of burglaries and car thefts occurred in the area of Forest Creek Drive, Daydreamer Drive, and Rainbow Gulch Trail.
According to Police, just after 3:00 a.m. a victim awoke to the sound of his garage door opening and went outside to find a suspect sitting in a running car outside the home on Forest Creek Dr. The victim chased the vehicle but lost it.
On the way the home, the victim saw more suspects burglarizing a home on Daydreamer Dr. and chased the vehicles, attempting box them in. Police said the suspects then fired multiple shots at the victim, striking his vehicle and causing to stop his pursuit. The suspects were able to steal a vehicle from the home on Daydreamer Dr.
A short time later, a home on Yellowtail Dr. was entered through the garage, but residents of the home were able to scare off the would be burglars by yelling at them. Just a few minutes after this attempted burglary, Stetson Hills Officers received a burglary call from a home on Rainbow Gulch Trail. Police said an abandoned, stolen vehicle was found in the road in front of this house. A different vehicle was also stolen from this house and has not been recovered.
