Nearly two hours after the shooting, law enforcement released a description of the vehicle that may have been connected to the case and asked the public to be on the lookout for it.

Our reporting partner in Denver, 9News reports that a CPW officer spotted the vehicle heading south on I-25 around 5:30 p.m. Colorado State Patrol later found the vehicle on I-25 near Meadows Parkway and were able to stop it.

9News reports they have confirmation that a 23-year-old man is in the Adams County Jail facing murder charges in connection to the shooting in Westminster. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time at the request of investigators who need to confirm the man’s identity through a line-up. Investigators are concerned that the release of his name would lead to the release of his photograph.

We have learned that the suspect is registered to vote at an address in Colorado Springs.

At this time, police do not have a motive for the crime.
