The Teller County Sheriff’s Office says two fires started in the county Wednesday were caused by lightning.
The sheriff’s office said lightning strikes started two fires in Teller County Wednesday afternoon. One fire was on Cathedral Ridge and Forest Service Road 339 north of Woodland Park off Highway 67.
The fires were reportedly one acre in size and were contained quickly. Forest Service and local fire service resources were able to get a quick handle on both fires, according to the sheriff’s office.
There were no structures threatened and no injuries reported.
