The Canon City Area Fire Protection District has implemented Stage Two fire restrictions starting Thursday.
This follows critical fire conditions in Fremont County and surrounding areas of Southern Colorado. According to a release, these conditions have lead to "extreme fire behavior potential" and it is critical in keeping the community safe.
In order to ensure that safety, stage two fire restrictions will restrict a number of activities including, building/maintaining campfires, grills using propane or other bottled fuels, use of a coal or wood-burning stove, and many more.
