Man dragged while attempting to stop car theft

Posted

Tuesday evening, just before midnight, CSPD officers with the Stetson Hills Division were dispatched to a home in the 6000 block of Revelstoke Drive for a motor vehicle theft in progress.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that multiple suspects had entered the garage of a home and stole a grey, Jeep Liberty.

According to police, a resident of the home attempted to confront the suspects and prevent the theft. As the suspects drove the vehicle away down Revelstoke Drive, the resident jumped on the back of the Jeep.

Police said the resident was dragged for several hundred yards until the vehicle turned south on Wolf Center Drive. When the vehicle turned, the man on the back fell off.

Police said the man sustained non life-threatening injuries in the fall and was transported to a local hospital.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing as police are still looking for the stolen Jeep. The Jeep Liberty is grey in color with license plate number YQQ570.

If you see the Jeep, do not approach and call police.
