The Air Force announced Thursday that 72 airmen and civilians will be transferred from Peterson Air Force Base to Langley, Va.

The move is part of a realignment to move cyber security responsibilities from Peterson AFB to align with Air Combat Command.

Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson said this move will result in faster decisions on cyber operations, intelligence, surveillance missions. The move makes Air Combat Command responsible for training on cyber missions.

The move means Space Command at Peterson AFB will now focus on space superiority and space defense capabilities.
