The Switchbacks earn revenge against Saint Louis FC, putting up a dominant performance in route to a 3-0 win Saturday night.

Looking to bounce back after losing to Oklahoma City Energy FC last weekend, the Switchbacks were motivated to get back to winning ways. This motivation translated into multiple opportunities in the first ten minutes for the Switchbacks. Saint Louis started to settle into the game but a penalty called for a foul in the box against Saint Louis let the Switchbacks jump in front 1-0 when Luke Vercollone buried the penalty in the 32nd minute. Vercollone was active throughout the first half that ended with another one of his shots being saved to go into the break at 1-0.

In the second half, Saeed Robinson kept the momentum going after taking the pass from Shane Malcolm and placing his shot perfectly where it kissed the underside of the crossbar on its way into the back of the net.  That is Robinson’s first goal of the 2018 campaign. The Switchbacks took advantage of all three substitutions in the second half since this was the team’s fifth match in just 15 days. But Luke Vercollone stayed on the pitch and he got his brace, scoring his second goal of the game in the third minute of stoppage time from a Shane Malcolm assist.

The Switchbacks will now travel to face the Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday, June 2nd. The Switchbacks return home on June 9th to face Swope Park Rangers.
