Colorado Springs Police officers from the Falcon Division responded to a three-car crash resulting in numerous injuries Monday night.

Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Interquest Parkway where a crash involving an SUV, a 10 passenger van, and a dump truck were involved early Monday evening. Police said it was determined that the dump truck was traveling west bound on Interquest and was loaded with asphalt when the passenger van was waiting to make a right hand turn onto Interquest.

The SUV then made a left hand turn in front of the dump truck causing a crash involving all three cars, according to officers. The impact from the dump truck pushed the SUV and the passenger van into a brick sign where all vehicles stopped.

Several people were trapped inside the SUV and the passenger van. Colorado Springs Firefighters responded and were able to extricate all trapped people, police said. Two people from the van were transported to a local hospital for injuries.

Medical treatment was administered for the other passengers in the SUV and van, but there were no serious injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the SUV was cited for the left hand turn.
