Students between Castle Rock and Fort Collins are planning on walking out of their schools for a total of 16-minutes on Wednesday, to show their support for the Second Amendment.

The event on May 2nd, is actually taking place nationwide. The majority of the walk-outs here in Colorado are taking place at 3:00 p.m., but a handful of schools will see the event happen at 10:00 a.m.

The Stand for the Second walk-out event was founded by Will Riley, a high school senior from Carlsbad, NM. Riley says there’s been a lot of talk recently about the need to create new laws that would restrict access to firearms in order to make our schools safer. But not a lot of attention has been given to those of who want to protect their natural rights that are enshrined in the constitution.
