We’re starting the month of May, so we’ll take a quick look back at April.

We did actually get some moisture during the month, but we still fell below average. We had over 1" of water fall at the Colorado Springs airport. That includes 5.3" of snow. However, we still came in .34" below average for the month.

Pueblo got even less precipitation with less than .5" falling at the airport. That puts them nearly 1" below average for the month.

In terms of temperatures we were right at average for Pueblo and about as close as you can get for Colorado Springs.

Looking forward to the new month, the Climate Prediction Center is call for above average temperatures for the entire country. The best potential for warmer than average conditions will be for the western part of the country so we are expecting some warmth over the next 30 days.

We’re on the edge of expecting above average and near average precipitation. With fairly dry conditions over the past few months, we’ll certainly hope to lean closer to above average precipitation this month.
