The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating a series of "smash and grab" burglaries at local businesses.

According to CSPD, detectives found seven burglaries at local businesses fitting the same type of pattern. The suspects are said to be targeting small businesses and restaurants and either prying the door open or breaking glass to make quick entries.

Police said the suspects are going for cash registers or safes before fleeing the scene. Each suspect has been clothed to make their identity, police said. Detectives were able to capture a photo of the suspect vehicle, described as a Jeep Patriot, possibly silver in color.

Anyone with information or is a witness to this investigation is asked to call CSPD at (719) 444-7000.
