Christmas Unlimited, a local charity, reported someone broke into their storage unit and stole 60 girls and boys bikes.

The bikes were from a donation made this past December, and had been placed in the unit until this coming Christmas. The charity received several phone calls and emails from people in the community asking how they can help.

Recently, Mike Tapia, Executive Director of Christmas Unlimited, got one phone call in particular that would relieve all their problems. The call was from a store manager at a local Walmart, he told Tapia that his store and nine other local stores would replace the 60 bikes that were stolen.

The local charity is so appreciative for the generosity that they will be accepting the donation with Mr. and Mrs. Claus on April 21. The community is welcome to join, as the event will start at 1 p.m. at the Walmart at 5555 E Woodmen Road.

Toys, bikes, and cash can be donated all year round at the Christmas Unlimited headquarters at 2205 E Boulder every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by calling 719-597-1821.
