Pueblo Police said a 49-year-old man was killed after another driver ran a red light at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Jones Avenue Wednesday night.
Police said the accident happened around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday when 2002 Suzuki SUV driven by an 18-year-old man didn’t stop for a flashing red light as he was driving east on Jones Avenue.
Officers said he hit a 1997 Chevy pickup truck driving in the northbound lanes of Lake Avenue. The truck rolled one time and the 49-year-old was partially ejected from the truck.
The man was taken to a Denver hospital for emergency surgery and died from his injuries.
Police said the crash is under investigation and charges are pending. They said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
