Police arrest three suspects involved in burglary and assault

Police made three arrests in a Burglary and Assault where two juveniles were injured in early April. 

Officers responded to the 2800 block of Wyatt Street where two young juveniles were assaulted. According to CSPD, Multiple suspects entered the home, one of which was armed with a handgun.

A confrontation with the neighbor ensued when the suspects left the home, where one of the suspects allegedly fired shots at the neighbor and fled the scene in a red Dodge Avenger. 

Officers from the Robbery Unit of Colorado Springs Police located the car in the 3100 block of East Fountain Boulevard on April 10. The registered owner, identified as 25-year old Keotis Demetric Reed, who was taken into custody and arrested for Accessory to Crime, police said.

An arrest warrant was obtained then next day for 23-year old Jerenzo Clarence Kyles on the charge of Attempted First Degree Murder, according to CSPD. The FBI Southern Colorado Safe Streets Task Force assisted CSPD in locating Kyles, as he was believed to be in the Killeen, Texas area. He was located and arrested without incident by Texas authorities on April 16. 

On April 12, the CSPD Robbery Unit, El Paso County Sheriff’s SWAT and the Metro Vice and Narcotics Division, also arrested 22-year Elliott Ahmad Salther for Attempted First Degree Murder, police said.

The two juveniles assaulted were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injures. Police said no on was struck by gunfire, but a car and some homes nearby sustained damage.
