Here are a few of the events going on this weekend.

Kidsfest

The 19th Annual Kidsfest will be going on this Saturday at the Ute Pass Cultural Center in Woodland Park. The free event from 9 am to 12 pm will feature games, prizes, a bounce house, and hands-on activities for young kids along with helpful information about local programs for parents. Recyclable Waste Day

If you’ve been spring cleaning and have some items that can’t be thrown out or recycled the traditional way, there will be a Recyclable Waste Day on Saturday in Pueblo. The event at the Colorado State Fairgrounds from 8 am to 1 pm will be open to city and county residents will accept many household items like batteries, laptops, microwaves, light bulbs, paint, stain, TVs, tires, fridges, freezers, and more. There will be a small fee of some items while many will be free. Find more informationhere.

Spring Cañon Clean-Up

If you’re looking to do something help out on Earth Day, which is Sunday, you can participate in Spring Cañon Clean-up. The event on Sunday from 9 am to noon will be held in conjunction with the Great American Clean-Up in North Cheyenne Canon. Meet at the Starsmore Visitor Nature Center and bring good shoes, gloves, and a water bottle. Participants will help clean around that park and many of the trails before we get into the busy hiking season ahead. Register and find more informationhere.

Earth Day celebration

You can celebrate Earth Day a day early at Garden of the Gods. Their 21st Annual Earth Day Celebration will be going on at the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center from 9 am to 3 pm Saturday. The free family event will feature activities, educational booths, live animals, and volunteer park clean-up. Additional parking will be at Rock Ledge Ranch and volunteer registration for the clean-up will begin at 8:30 am. Find more information here.
