In a monumental matchup of perennial powers in Class 4A, Lewis-Palmer outlasted Palmer Ridge 3-2 to win the state championship Saturday night at the Denver Coliseum.

After dropping the opening set, the Rangers responded by winning three of the next four en route to the title.

Lewis-Palmer received huge efforts from Danielle Norman, Annika Hankenson and Gianna Bartalo to cap a 21-8 season with a long anticipated trophy.

Coronado and Cheyenne Mountain advanced to the state semifinals as well, eventually falling to the Bears and Rangers, meaning Southern Colorado had the four remaining teams in Class 4A this season.
