COLORADO SPRINGS — Graduating seniors in Harrison School District 2 can get free college tuition next year.

Pikes Peak Community College is partnering with the Dakota Foundation and Legacy Institute to offer free tuition and support coaches for qualifying D2 students. The program is designed to provide a path for kids who might otherwise not have a chance at higher education.

"They look at college and they think they might want to go, or maybe it's not even on their radar, because the conversation at home is 'Hey, we don't have the money to send you to school.'"

Everyone involved hopes to have between 80 and a 100 students enroll for the fall 2020 semester.

To qualify students must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and fill out financial aid paperwork.
